Membership
Leaving the club, and deleting your data.
Last updated: October 2026
Membership is a door you may close whenever you wish. If you decide the club is no longer for you, you can delete your account and the personal data we hold for you, and we will not make it difficult. This page explains exactly how, what happens afterwards, and the small number of things the law requires us to keep.
How to delete your account
From the app or the website
Sign in, open Settings, and scroll to the bottom of the page to the account section. There you will find the option to delete your account. As a safeguard against a mistaken tap, we ask you to type DELETE MY ACCOUNT to confirm. Once you do, the request is made immediately and no further steps are needed. The same option is available on iPhone, on Android, and in a web browser — whichever you happen to be using.
By email
If you would rather not sign in, or you no longer have access to your account, write to us at admin@thecollectorsclub.com from the email address associated with your membership, and ask us to close it. We may ask a question or two to be certain the request is genuinely yours — your privacy is the reason we check — and then we will handle it for you.
What happens when you delete
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal data that makes up your presence in the club:
- Your profile, portrait, and biography
- Your collection and the details of every piece in it
- Your wishlist and everything you were quietly chasing
- Your name and email, which are anonymised so they can no longer identify you
- Your active matches and the ability of others to be matched with you
- Any identity documents you provided during your application
Your messages are end-to-end encrypted, and we have never been able to read them. When your account closes, your side of those conversations is removed along with everything else.
What we are required to keep
There is one thing we cannot simply delete, and we would rather be plain about it than surprise you later.
Transaction records. Where a deal has completed through the club, we are obliged to keep a record of it for accounting and tax purposes for seven years. We do this by anonymising the record rather than deleting it — the transaction remains on our books, but it is no longer tied to your name.
How long it takes
Deletion is immediate for you — the moment you confirm, you are signed out and your account is closed. Behind the scenes, the removal of your data across our systems and backups completes within thirty days. If you deleted your account by mistake, write to us within that window and we will do our best to help, though we cannot promise recovery once the process has run.
Exporting your data first
If you would like to take a copy of your data with you before you go, you can request a full export from the same Settings page. We will prepare it and send it to you. There is no need to delete your account to do this.
A quiet word
You are welcome back at any time, though you would apply afresh. If something about the club prompted you to leave, we would genuinely like to hear it — admin@thecollectorsclub.com reaches the founder directly. For anything to do with your data or this process, admin@thecollectorsclub.com is the address.
You can read how we handle personal data in our Privacy Policy.
